Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information PlainLaw Insight (operated by JMCamellia, LLC) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
- Account information: name, email address, password (hashed), display preferences.
- Documents and text you submit, resulting reports and chat history — stored in your private account.
- Consent records: timestamp and version of Terms, Privacy Policy, and disclaimers accepted.
- Usage data: pages viewed, features used, approximate location from IP, device and browser info.
- Technical identifiers for security: IP address (stored as one-way hash and subnet prefix), browser user-agent (hashed), hashed device identifier — used exclusively for security, fraud, and abuse prevention.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide and operate the Service.
- To improve quality, safety, and reliability.
- To detect abuse, fraud, and Acceptable Use Policy violations.
- To communicate about your account, updates, and security notices.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share data only with service providers (cloud hosting, AI inference, email delivery) under contract, law enforcement when required by valid legal process, and successors in a merger or acquisition.
4. Documents and Reports
Documents you submit and reports generated are stored in your private account. They are accessible only to you and authorized service operations (flagged-output review, support, security investigation, compliance response, or user-consented assistance). Access is recorded in a governance audit log. Documents are not shared with other users. PlainLaw Insight does not authorize AI providers to train their models on your content.
5. Retention
Uploaded documents and reports are stored until you delete them or close your account. Account data is deleted within 30 days of account closure (except legally required records). Operational logs are retained up to 12 months and do not contain document body text.
6. Security
All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Row-level security restricts access so each account can only access its own records. Authorized personnel access is logged.
7. Your Rights
You may access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Contact us at the governance contact page to exercise these rights.
8. Children
This Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
